Gbemso, MC Fish’s partner, has said she left her oil and gas job after spending three years in the industry.
Speaking on a live video with Daddy Freeze, Gbemso said her growing public profile, along with her relationship with the hype man, made it difficult to keep doing her regular 9-5.
She said:
“Because, like, Fish is a hype man, and my new popularity couldn’t make me continue my oil and gas job.”
Gbemso said she was not fired from the company. She made the decision to leave herself.
“I left it.”
During her time at the company, she worked in different departments and eventually became the owner’s personal assistant.
“From customer service I entered freight management. From freight management I became the PA of the owner of the company,” she said.
She said leaving the job became necessary because of the challenge of balancing her professional career with her growing public identity.
“So I had to leave the job because you can’t have an onlinepersonality, she stated.
Gbemso also explained that event management was something she had done before getting her 9-5 job. After leaving, she decided to return to the field and use her previous contacts to build events around MC Fish’s work.
“Before my 9-5, I was into event management and artist planning and since my baby is an MC, what I just did was content to old contacts and started building event around him and it has been working very good,” she added.
