Medical doctor slams Dr Zo over claims on Blessing CEO’s health video

A Nigerian medical doctor called McDrMoore, has publicly criticised popular physician Doctor Zo over his video defending  Blessing CEO, after she posted a clip showing one of her arms appearing blackened and swollen, which stirred claims  that she could be battling cancer or undergoing chemotherapy

Doctor Zo, in the controversial video, suggested that her appearance and facial expression were consistent with someone suffering from a serious illness. He also implied that her look resembled patients undergoing chemotherapy and added that medical professionals can often read deeper health conditions from appearance and behaviour.

He said: “Those are the hands of someone receiving chemotherapy. The look on her face, the solid look, is the look you see in people that are chronically ill. And the one you guys will never see is how you look beyond the eyes. I know when someone is battling mental health as well. I have been a med school, I entered medical school 36 years ago.”

Reacting strongly, another medical doctor faulted Doctor Zo’s conclusions and accused him of crossing professional boundaries by publicly defending Blessing CEO, whom he described as a controversial personality with a history of alleged scams and online controversies.

He said: “I just saw this video by Dr. Zo where he was talking about Bless and See You.”

He continued: “To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement. Honestly, Dr. Zhou is a well-respected senior colleague, but he… goofed big time here because I don’t understand how you can put your neck on the line and your reputation and your professional integrity on the line to defend a known scammer like Blessing CEO.”

The doctor further explained that a swollen or darkened arm could have multiple medical causes unrelated to cancer or chemotherapy, including complications from hospital treatment such as intravenous fluid leakage into surrounding tissue instead of a vein.

“There are several things that can make your arm dark and swollen for example if she recently went to the hospital… and the line went into tissue and the fluid seeped into our tissue instead of the vein… everybody that has experienced that before will know that your hands will obviously become swollen and dark.”

He also argued that Blessing CEO has a history of attention-seeking behaviour online, referencing past controversies, including allegations of falsifying or manipulating medical-related content for publicity.

According to him, such patterns make it dangerous for a medical professional to publicly suggest a cancer diagnosis without proper clinical confirmation, warning that it could mislead the public into sympathy donations or support based on unverified claims.

“This is the same person who has acted like she would shave her head to look like someone with cancer, and even went as far as taking somebody else’s results, editing the name and putting her own name on it. How then do you go ahead and defend this kind of person?”, he said.

He added that while mental health discussions may be relevant, he disagreed with claims that her appearance indicated a chronic illness, insisting that social media filters and makeup often distort public perception.

The doctor concluded by stressing that medical professionals must be careful with public commentary, especially on sensitive health issues, because their words carry authority and can significantly influence public opinion and financial decisions.
