A mini truck carrying tomatoes lost control and collided with multiple vehicles on the Otedola Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday
The crash happened around noon and was reportedly caused by brake failure, eyewitnesses said. The truck veered off its lane, striking other vehicles and causing panic among drivers on the bridge.
The collision forced a black SUV onto another car, leaving both vehicles damaged. Fortunately, no deaths were reported, and a family inside one of the affected vehicles escaped unharmed.
Traffic on the bridge was heavily disrupted for several hours as emergency teams and motorists worked to clear the wreckage. The incident adds to a growing number of accidents at Otedola Bridge, considered one of Lagos’ most hazardous traffic blackspots, especially for trucks and heavy vehicles.
