Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka Anite, has announced that the ongoing EndBadGovernance protests have incurred an estimated N500 billion in economic losses
In a statement released on social media, Dr. Anite expressed profound concern regarding the loss of life and extensive damage caused by the protests.
Key statistics highlighted in her post include:
– N52 billion worth of goods destroyed
– 21 reported fatalities
Dr. Anite stressed that the looting and destruction have significantly impacted businesses and entrepreneurs across the nation, hindering economic growth.
She appealed for peaceful and constructive dialogue, stating:
“The loss of life during the protests is deeply distressing. My thoughts are with the families affected. Let us honor those we’ve lost by striving for a more peaceful and constructive resolution.”
