Tension flared at the Miss Universe 2025 pre-pageant ceremony in Thailand as several contestants walked out in protest
The controversy began when Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, was allegedly humiliated by Thailand official Nawat Itsaragrisil, who called her ‘dumb’ for not posting promotional content on social media.

Bosch’s objection led to a heated exchange, with Nawat threatening to disqualify her and calling security.
In a show of solidarity, other contestants joined Bosch in walking out of the venue.
Bosch later expressed her disappointment, stating that Nawat’s actions were disrespectful and undermining to women, and that empowered women deserved better.
She said: “As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand. I respect all of you. You are amazing people. But what your director did is not respectful. He called me dumb and said to me to shut up and other different things. I think the world needs to see this because we are empowered women. This is a platform for our voice.”
