The Ogun State Police Command has announced the rescue of a 7-year-old girl, Mercy Akinde, who was abducted last week in Sango-Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state
The command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.
She revealed that the covert operation, which led to the girl’s rescue, was personally led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, with suspects involved in the abduction arrested.
The statement read, “Good evening, esteemed members of the press. In a swift covert operation by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, the Ota missing girl was found in Ayetoro, Ogun State, by the Anti-Kidnapping Team of the command, and all suspects have been arrested.”
Odutola added that further details would be provided during a press briefing by the Commissioner of Police.
