Actress Mo Bimpe has raised the alarm over a YouTube channel impersonating her and reposting her original content without permission
In a post shared on Instagram Wednesday, the 28-year-old actress called out the channel named Mobimpewrite’s Stories, accusing its owner of copying her work “video for video, poster for poster,” in a bid to deceive her fans and grow their page.
“I’m TIRED. I’m FED UP,” she wrote. “Someone created a YouTube channel named MOBIMPEWRITE’s STORIES just to copy EVERYTHING I do… tricking people into believing it’s me.”
Mo Bimpe claimed the impersonator had even reposted her personal birthday tribute to her mother, pretending it was theirs. “That’s not inspiration. That’s disrespectful,” she said.
She explained that despite several efforts by her team to report the page, the content theft has continued, with the fake channel reportedly gaining subscribers and engagement by riding on her work.
“This person is determined to keep stealing my work, my sweat, my ideas, my creativity,” she wrote. “What you’re doing is deeply wrong… and one thing I can assure you is this: you will be caught. Soon.”
The actress, who is married to actor Lateef Adedimeji, also called on her fans to help report the fraudulent account and asked for legal and technical advice on how to permanently shut it down.
“I built MOBIMPE TV with tears, passion, and consistency,” she concluded. “I won’t let someone hijack everything I’ve poured my heart and soul into.”
