Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has stated that his son will not be buried until a DNA test is carried out on Mohbad’s child, Liam
In a video released on Tuesday, Aloba emphasized, “The DNA test is the most important thing. Once it is done, Mohbad will be buried.” He added, “Mohbad will be buried immediately after the DNA test is completed.”
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was initially buried the following day, sparking nationwide outrage.
His body was later exhumed for an autopsy amid calls for a detailed investigation into the circumstances of his death. More than two years on, his remains are still being held by government authorities.
The current dispute over a DNA test arises from ongoing paternity speculations. Joseph Aloba has insisted that the test be conducted either in his presence or through a representative to guarantee transparency. He maintains that he alone has the authority to approve Mohbad’s burial and considers the DNA result essential for “closure.”
