The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has officially moved into the Speaker’s office at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex
She moved in today, Monday, January 27, 2025.
Videos circulating on social media on Monday showed supporters praising God and praying for her as she assumed office.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Complex has heightened security ahead of the plenary session scheduled for today.
The plenary follows speculations of a potential showdown in the House, as the former Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, had claimed on Saturday that he remains the Speaker of the House.
Obasa was replaced by Meranda after being removed by the majority of House members on January 13, 2025, following allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation.
