Lead pastor of Celebration Church International, Pastor Emmanuel Iren, has addressed sexual assault allegations within his ministry, warning about the dangers of false claims and emphasizing the need to fully understand the concept of consent

During a recent sermon, Pastor Iren admitted he initially reacted with anger to reports of sexual misconduct involving church members. However, after conducting deeper investigations, he found that most of the accusations lacked credibility.
“In this ministry, 9 out of 10 cases ended up false,” he said. “The first few cases, I was angry. I called the guy and swore I would jail him until he sent evidence. The girl who claimed she was assaulted said ‘It was a nice time’ in the chat.”
He raised concerns about people using assault allegations to retaliate after breakups, saying, “Ending a relationship should not be a ground for sexual assault allegations.”
Addressing the young men in his congregation, Pastor Iren encouraged them to practice chastity and avoid situations that could lead to accusations. He also gave a stern warning about the limits of consent.
“Initial consent isn’t total consent,” he said. “Run for your life if consent is withdrawn 10 seconds after granting it. I don’t know who raised some men!”
