A former Mexican beauty queen, Carolina Flores Gómez, has been k!lled in a shocking incident inside a luxury apartment in the Polanco area of Mexico City.
The 27-year-old, who previously held the title of Miss Teen Universe Baja California 2017, was reportedly at home with her infant child when the shooting occurred on April 15, 2026.
Authorities say surveillance footage captured moments leading up to the tragedy. In the video, Flores Gómez is seen inside the residence alongside her mother-in-law. Her husband later appears carrying their baby into the room after the incident.
Witnesses in the recording can be heard reacting in shock, with one voice asking, “What was that?” and another saying, “What did you do, crazy?”.
The mother-in-law, identified by investigators as the main person of interest, reportedly responds: “Nothing. She made me angry.”
A tense exchange follows between family members, including the husband, who asks why the situation escalated. His mother replies: “You’re mine and she stole you.”
Police in Mexico City have launched an investigation into the killing. While no formal charges have been publicly confirmed, authorities have identified the mother-in-law as the primary suspect.
The victim’s family has raised concerns about delays in reporting the incident. However, relatives say the husband may have been worried about the wellbeing of the couple’s baby and feared complications involving custody or protective services.
