Renowned Hausa musician Dauda Adamu, also known as Rarara, has announced the release of his mother, Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, after she was held captive by kidnappers for 20 days
According to Sahara reporters, the 75-year-old woman was abducted by suspected terrorists in Kastina state in late June.
Although Rarara shared the news of his mother’s release on Instagram, it remains unclear whether a ransom was paid to secure her freedom.
Initial demands from the kidnappers were reportedly set at N1 billion, but this amount was later reduced to N900 million.
The Katsina State Police Command had earlier confirmed the arrest of two suspects linked to the abduction, and an investigation was ongoing.
