The sister of a University of Nigeria (UNIZIK) lecturer, who was allegedly assaulted by a student, has come forward to defend her brother
During a live video with media personality Daddy Freeze, she described her brother as a calm and humble individual.
According to the sister, the lecturer had called her immediately after the incident and explained that the situation began when a female student made a derogatory comment about him.
He approached her to see if she was his student and noticed she was recording a video.
The lecturer asked her to delete the video, as he didn’t want his face recorded, which allegedly led to a physical altercation.
The sister stated that the student scratched, bit, and drew blood from the lecturer’s arm. She emphasized that her brother is not one to provoke conflict, citing his calm demeanor and strong Christian values.
The sister expressed pain and disappointment over the online backlash against her brother, with many commentators defending the student and insinuating that the lecturer may have been involved with her..
She said: “My brother called me as soon as it happened because we are very close.
He told me that what drew his attention was when he passed and the girl said, “who does he even think he is, even if he’s a lecturer?”
He came back to see if the girl is his student, and that’s when he noticed that she was making a video. He then asked her to delete it that he doesn’t want his face in any video, and things escalated.
He was still in shock, he said before he knew what was happening, the girl was all over him, scratching him, she bit him on the arm and drew blood.
I didn’t even know it was this serious because the way he gifted me was like it was not a big deal, he just told me that a student attacked him.
My brother is the calmest, most humble person I know. He is someone that will say, “the Holy Spirit said I should let it go”.
So it’s very painful to come online and see all the comments against my brother, most people trying to defend the girl, most people saying that who knows if he has something to do with her.
I mean his wife is a Magistrate for God’s sake…”
