Actress and entertainer Keke Palmer is opening up about her commitment to financial discipline, revealing that despite her success, she intentionally keeps her rent at just $1,500—even when she has a million dollars in the bank

In an interview with CNBC, Palmer emphasized the value of living below one’s means, a principle instilled in her by her parents, who earned around $40,000 at the peak of their careers. “I believe in saving and frugality… I don’t play around with that,” she said.
Palmer, who began acting at the age of nine and rose to fame with roles in Barbershop 2 and Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, said her financial habits have always been shaped by a long-term perspective.
Despite her glamorous appearances—like her recent Christina Aguilera-inspired look at the Vanity Fair Oscars party—Palmer says staying grounded financially is key.
