Former Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo, who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District, has said N29m is too small for Senators
He revealed this in an Arise TV interview.
He said his his total monthly pay and perks as a senator were N14.4m.
He noted that the current salary for senators is around N29 million ($18,000 USD).
Abbo argued that the public’s perception of senators’ earnings is exaggerated, stating, “N29 million looks big on paper, but in reality, it’s not as much as people think.”
He shared his personal experience, explaining that despite his senatorial income, he had to subsidize his own life after leaving his company to enter governance.
