The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed over 100 sacks of empty alcoholic beverage bottles uncovered at a residential building in Lagos State over suspected plans to reuse them for counterfeiting popular brands
The agency’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate discovered the bottles at a building located at 322B Meiran Road, Agbado Oke-Odo, Lagos.
NAFDAC said the empty bottles of assorted alcoholic beverages were suspected to have been stored for use in the production of counterfeit alcoholic drinks.
The agency subsequently destroyed the bottles to prevent their reuse in the manufacture and distribution of fake alcoholic products.
