Alleged abuse; Nana Akua Addo releases statement

Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo has finally released a statement in the midst of her marriage brouhaha and domestic allegations

‎‎Yesterday, many videos made the rounds about the loved actress.

In one she was seen with bl00d all over her clothes and was visibly harmed.

In another, her husband was seen beating up her daughter, a girl she has now referred to as a minor.

She has now released an official statement through her lawyers, confirming the abuse, and also thanking the Ghanaian police.

It was also mentioned in her statement that, she is confident in the court system.

The statement;

‘’1. We are a firm of barristers and solicitors based in Accra. We write to you on the instructions of our client, Rosemond Akua Adobea a.k.a Nana Akua Addo.

2. Our attention has been drawn to several harrowing videos circulating on social media, showing our client and her children embroiled in a domestic dispute.

3. These videos were leaked without our client’s knowledge and consent and are a deep violation of her privacy and that of her children who are all minors.

4. We humbly request that all media houses refrain from publishing and sharing the videos especially the ones showing the abuse of a minor. This is a delicate matter involving young children and as such we are counting on your responsible journalism to safeguard the mental wellbeing of the victims of this unfortunate turn of events who are already dealing with enough trauma.

5. Please note that the matter is currently sub judice and in the hands of the appropriate authorities.

6. We are grateful for the timely intervention and responsiveness of Ghana Police and are confident in the competence of our court systems to stand up against domestic violence in our society.

7. At the appropriate time our client will address all pertinent issues, in the meantime we ask that the media and the general public respect the privacy of the family as they deal with this difficult situation.
