The national electricity grid suffered a partial collapse on Monday, leading to widespread power outages across various regions of the country
An official from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the incident to our correspondent, clarifying that the collapse was not a complete shutdown of the grid.
The TCN official, who chose to remain anonymous due to lack of authorization to speak to the press, assured that power was being restored gradually.
Our correspondent observed that the total electricity generation on the grid plummeted to zero at approximately 1:33 pm on Monday.
This incident marks the fifth time the national electricity grid has collapsed in 2024 alone.
The TCN is working to restore power supply to affected areas, with efforts underway to revive the grid and ensure a stable electricity supply.
