Nigeria has been thrown into darkness once again as the country’s national grid collapsed
According to DAILY POST, the national power supply was interrupted around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday.
This marks the second grid collapse this week and the twelfth in the past eleven months.
Confirming the incident, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company stated:
“Dear Esteemed Customer,
The current outage is due to a system collapse of the National Grid.
The power system stakeholders are working to restore supply as quickly as possible. We ask for your patience.”
Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has yet to provide an official explanation for Thursday’s grid failure. However, the TCN had previously attributed the grid collapse on Tuesday to line and generator trippings.
