First Lady Remi Tinubu has announced that her birthday well-wishers donated N20 billion towards the completion of the National Library project in Abuja
She revealed this on Tuesday during a lunch briefing with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, two days after celebrating her 65th birthday on September 21.
According to her, the amount is still increasing. “This is what we can do as a nation,” she said.
The National Library project, which was initiated by the late President Shehu Shagari in 1981, has an estimated government budget of about N100 billion.
“I know that we can finish this project. I have played my part,” Mrs Tinubu stated.
