The Nigerian Navy has announced the arrest of three suspects by troops of Operation Delta Sanity for allegedly transporting 125 bags of industrial chemicals, 820 tubes of pethidine, and 22,800 bottles of codeine in a large wooden boat near the Bendoyo and Uta Uyata areas of Akwa Ibom State
The Navy disclosed this in a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Monday.
According to the statement, the interception occurred on Monday, November 25, 2024, by personnel from the Forward Operating Base IBAKA.
The suspects and the seized items were subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Maritime Unit in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
