NBA YoungBoy is set to be released from prison on April 26 much sooner than expected
Initially scheduled for release in July, new reports confirm that the Louisiana rapper will now walk free on April 26.
YoungBoy’s legal troubles began in April of last year when he was arrested on charges related to an alleged prescription drug fraud scheme. Authorities originally hit him with 63 charges, including identity fraud, forgery, and possession of controlled substances. In November, he pleaded guilty to 10 counts and entered a no-contest plea for the remaining charges. As a result, he was sentenced to 23 months in prison and 60 months of probation.
News of YoungBoy’s early release has excited fans. “WE LITTTTTT,” one X user wrote, while another said, “The goat is back soon.”
The update comes shortly after Terrance “Gangsta” Williams, the half-brother of Birdman and Slim, claimed that YoungBoy knocked out another inmate at Talladega federal prison. Allegedly, the inmate had shouted “OTF,” referencing Lil Durk’s crew, with whom YoungBoy has an ongoing feud. “He been standing on business,” Williams stated.
DJ Akademiks also hinted at YoungBoy’s release during Adin Ross’ Brand Risk 005 boxing event. While discussing upcoming music, he teased fans by saying, “Drake’s coming soon, Durk’s coming soon, and YB’s getting out of jail.”
