As part of its efforts to strengthen data privacy regulations, the commission has also introduced the Nigeria Data Protection Act – General Application and Implementation Directive (NDP Act-GAID). This directive provides detailed guidelines to help data controllers and processors comply with the law.

Additionally, the NDPC unveiled the Standard Notice to Address Grievance (SNAG), a mechanism that enables individuals to directly seek redress from data controllers and processors without initially involving the commission.

NDPC’s National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, disclosed these developments yesterday in Abuja, emphasizing that the commission is closely examining compliance with data protection laws.
