Ned Nwoko has accused a “pull-down-Ned” syndicate of exploiting his ongoing marital crisis with wife, Regina Daniels to smear his image and destroy his reputation both locally and internationally
In a statement issued by his Communication and Technical Action Team in Abuja, the Delta North Senator described the campaign against him as a “coordinated gang-up” by people who had long been bent on tarnishing his name.

Nwoko dismissed recent reports of land grabbing in his hometown, describing them as “false and unfortunate.” According to him, the land in question was lawfully allocated for the establishment of his University of Sports, a project he says is currently benefiting the community.
“Anyone who seeks progress in our society is often attacked and torn down by their own people. That’s the sad difference between us and other ethnic groups,” he lamented.
The lawmaker further alleged that some individuals were exploiting his wife’s “fragile mental state,” claiming that Regina Daniels had previously admitted to substance use and was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder.
“Those exploiting her present condition to settle old scores will face justice. They must be careful with their defamatory statements because they will be required to prove them,” Nwoko stated.
He added that Regina’s history of substance use was well-documented, referencing both her past admissions and testimonies from her former schoolmates.
“She openly admitted to using drugs and being on bipolar medication. Yet, my detractors are manipulating her to push false narratives,” he said, warning that those spreading lies would soon face legal consequences.
Addressing the controversy over the timeline of his marriage to Regina, Nwoko clarified that she was 19 years old at the time of their union, not 17 as widely claimed.
“For clarity, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19, not 17,” he explained.
The senator also defended his decision to marry Regina, noting that her mother personally gave her away according to traditional rites.
“Our customs do not frown upon polygamy. I married her honorably, gave her a name, and treated her with dignity. My world revolved around her,” he said.
“This entire campaign is a political and personal attack using Regina as a weak point. My marriage has become a weapon for blackmail, but the truth will prevail,” he declared.
