Pastor Kayode Pitan has been named the new pastor of the City of David Parish in Lagos, part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
He replaces Pastor Charles Kpandei, who had been serving as the interim pastor since the suspension of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade.
According to Church Times Nigeria, Pitan’s appointment comes after Iluyomade was suspended due to certain allegations. While some reports initially suggested that Pitan had already taken over, it was Kpandei who led the parish from June following Iluyomade’s suspension.
A reliable source within the RCCG confirmed to Church Times that Pitan has now been officially appointed as the new pastor of the City of David. The church’s governing council made this decision during their recent convention.
Before this new assignment, Pastor Pitan was the Pastor in Charge of the Tabernacle of David in Region 51 and also served as the Regional Pastor.
