Nicole Scherzinger addressed criticism after fans accused her of supporting Donald Trump due to her comment on a recent social media post by Russell Brand about the election.
The 46-year-old singer and actress, known for her occasionally controversial political views, responded on her Instagram Story Friday night.
“I sincerely apologize for any hurt caused by my recent interactions on social media,” she wrote.
“When I commented on those posts, I failed to recognize that they could be interpreted as politically related, and I apologize to anyone who might have come to that conclusion.”
Nicole clarified that the comment was not reflective of her political views or voting choices, despite assumptions made by the public.
