Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has demonstrated his kindness by gifting each National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member deployed to the state a sum of N200,000 as a bonus
This generous act aims to encourage the corps members to complete their service in the state.
During the NYSC Batch B, Stream 1 orientation ceremony at the temporary camp in Paikoro, Governor Bago announced that corps members who pursue agricultural ventures can earn a monthly income of N500,000.
He also allocated N5 billion for the establishment of a new NYSC camp, ordered the construction of more toilets and the drilling of five boreholes in the temporary camp, and donated 20 cows and one trailer load of rice for the welfare of the corps members in camp.
The governor’s generosity and announcements were met with enthusiastic cheers and applause from the recipients, demonstrating his commitment to supporting youth development and entrepreneurship in the state.
He said: “I was told that there are 1,600 Corp members for this batch. I am crediting each of your accounts with N200,000. This will enable you to be comfortable to stay in Niger State. This is to show you that there is prosperity in Niger State. I will do my best to ensure that Corpers enjoy serving in Niger state.
I have given orders to build more toilets and drill five boreholes in this temporary camp. I will give 20 cows and one trailer load of rice for the welfare of the Corpers in camp.”
