The Super Eagles secured a hard-fought victory against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, thanks to a late winner
Austin Eguavoen’s side dominated proceedings from the outset, with Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen leading the charge in place of the absent Victor Osimhen.
The hosts created numerous scoring opportunities, with Alex Iwobi of Fulham coming close when his near-post strike was expertly saved by Libya’s goalkeeper, Murad Al Wuheeshi.
Frank Onyeka’s powerful shot from outside the box forced another impressive save, but William Troost-Ekong was unable to capitalize on the rebound.
Despite the relentless pressure, the breakthrough eluded the Super Eagles until the dying minutes, when they finally secured the crucial three points.
