Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has been released by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) after being detained at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos

Sowore’s detention was due to a watchlist issued by the Department of State Service (DSS), which ordered his arrest upon arrival in Nigeria.
According to SaharaReporters, DSS cited his involvement in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests and his plans for an October 1 demonstration as reasons for the arrest.
Following his release, Sowore confirmed that his passport and personal belongings had been returned to him.
Sowore has been a vocal critic of the government, and his detention and release have sparked concerns about freedom of speech.
