The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted over allegations that he illegally sold and supplied military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal groups
In a statement released on Thursday, the Corps’ Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, disclosed that initial findings showed the soldier, who was attached to the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, abandoned his duty post on June 3, 2026.
The statement said military authorities have officially declared Amutu wanted, while efforts are underway to track him down for investigation and possible disciplinary measures in accordance with military regulations.
The Army reiterated that it has zero tolerance for indiscipline or any conduct capable of undermining its operations, reputation or national security.
It also warned that any personnel involved in the unauthorized sale, diversion or distribution of military uniforms, equipment or other restricted items to terrorists, criminals or non-state actors would face prosecution under both military and civil laws.
The Corps appealed to the public to assist with useful information that could lead to Amutu’s arrest, urging anyone with relevant details to report to the nearest military formation or security agency.
NAOC added that it remains committed to professionalism, accountability and safeguarding military assets, stressing that all allegations of misconduct would be thoroughly investigated and offenders brought to justice.
