Nigerian Football team detained by Libyan authoritiesTheir chartered plane was redirected to a city over two hours away from Benghazi, their intended destination.
This incident appears to be retaliation for Libyan players’ who complained of poor treatment during their recent visit to Nigeria for a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Nigeria won that match with 1-0/ Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored the winning goal.
