Nigerian man to embarks on 145-hour reading marathon

John Obot has set his sights on a 145-hour reading marathon that aims to establish a new world record.

With approval from the Guinness World Records, Obot’s record attempt is scheduled to take place from September 9 -15 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

He recently received confirmation from the renowned organisation, signaling their approval of his application for the record attempt.

Taking to social media, Obot shared the email he received, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

If successful, Obot will surpass the current record held by Rysbai Isakov from Kyrgyzstan, who spent 124 hours engrossed in reading during a marathon in Bursa, Turkey, from September 22 to 27, 2022.
