Nigerian photographer, Fati Abubakar has opened up about being age-shamed by men she has rejected
Fati says it’s a strange behavior which men need to stop.
She also spoke about how aging is a beautiful thing that makes one wiser, buoyant and happier.
“It’s strange how when you reject men, they start calling old simply because you are in your 30s. They are consistently hurling insults and bitterness. I don’t understand the age shaming. And what’s wrong with aging? she wrote in a Facebook post today.
”All of us will grow old. Being older is something beautiful to me. You are wiser, buoyant, happier, secure with your self. You make informed decisions. You can see through the BS. You can tell when someone is a narcissist or manipulative. (This wisdom may have skipped them but it hasn’t others)
And I truly hope men begin to understand that simply because you are rich or have a house or a car means you are husband material.
I truly hope you heal, and also understand that no matter how much of a spec you are, you may never be somebody’s cup of tea.
I hope you seek Islamic counseling to better understand the rights of men and women in marriage before you take the plunge”, she concluded.
