Nigerian rapper Falz has opened up about his personal approach to self-care and well-being in a recent interview with Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro on her “Spa with Osas” show.
The artist emphasized the multifaceted nature of self-care and its crucial role in maintaining happiness and avoiding burnout.
Falz described self-care as encompassing various dimensions, including caring for one’s mind, body, and spirit. He shared his strategy of immersing himself in activities that bring him pleasure, peace, and inspiration. “You want to stay in a happy place; you don’t want to feel unhappy or like there is something missing,” he explained.
The rapper also reflected on the physical changes that come with aging, particularly after turning 30. He noted how recent years have taken a toll on his body and encouraged his fellow Nigerians to be attentive to their physical well-being. “By the time you cross 30, you start to observe things about your body. It may be your stomach today, then your ear or knees, so you have to pay attention to your body,” Falz advised.
Emphasizing the importance of rest and sleep, Falz warned against the dangers of overworking. “If you don’t rest, you will collapse; you can’t cheat nature,” he stated, underscoring that proper rest is essential for optimal functioning.
