Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has sparked a thought-provoking conversation on social media, highlighting the irony of many Nigerians being well-versed in biblical stories while remaining ignorant about their own ancestral heritage
In a Facebook post, Edochie expressed disappointment, stating:
“We’ve been brainwashed to know everything about Moses, Jacob, Isaac, and the people of Israel, yet we know nothing about our ancestors, their exploits, and the great people in our lineage.”
He emphasized the importance of understanding one’s roots, concluding:
“If you don’t know who you are and where you’re coming from, you’ll never know where you’re heading to.”
Edochie’s message encourages Nigerians to reclaim their cultural identity and learn about their own history, rather than solely focusing on biblical figures.
