In a groundbreaking achievement, Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, has become the first African team to qualify for the quarterfinals in the Olympics basketball tournament

Their 79-70 victory over Canada on Sunday secured their spot in the next round.
Ezinne Kalu led the team with an impressive 21 points, while Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah dominated the rebounds with 7, and Promise Amukamara dished out 6 assists.

This win marks the team’s second victory in three group games, with a total of 208 points scored and 207 conceded.
