Nine Nigerian Students Kidnapped in Ukraine

A statement released by the representative of the National
Security and Defence Council Information Centre Andriy Lysenko, has said nine Nigerian students have been kidnapped in Ukraine but negotiations are under way
to free the students taken captive by rebels in the eastern city of
    Luhansk.
Ukrainian news agencies say the suspected militants abducted
the Nigerian students on Monday and have been holding them as prisoners at
an occupied government security building, close to the Russian border.

The Rebels seeking greater autonomy have been waging a
bloody battle in eastern Ukraine against the government and by so doing
kidnapped nine Nigerian students schooling in the country.

Relatives of the kidnapped students have also been making
efforts to hold a press conference at the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine since their abduction on Monday.
