On-Air Personality (OAP), Do2dtun, has taken to his X page to express his outrage and concern over a radio station’s alleged failure to pay its staff for eight months
Do2dtun, who is known for his candid opinions, lamented the situation, stating that it is “cruel and inhumane” to owe workers for such an extended period.
He specifically mentioned his friends and colleagues at Soundcity, asking how they cope with the non-payment of salaries for eight months.
He said: “It’s not by force to open a radio station. Owing your staffs for 8 months is very cruel and inhumane. You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you this”
“My friends and colleagues at Soundcity, how do you guys cope?
No salary for 8 months ? Mehn that’s crazy!!!!”
Do2dtun’s post was corroborated by a tweet from a former employee of the radio station, who shared a similar experience of working in a toxic environment where staff were frequently fired and replaced to avoid paying salaries.
The tweet revealed that some staff members are owed over a year’s worth of salaries, highlighting the severity of the situation.
“I worked there for just 1 month,I left after I saw how they ran the place like a mob house. They will still fire staff weekly for the most simple reasons & hire new ones to replace them almost immediately, just to make sure they don’t pay any1. Some are owed more than a year. Lol”
