Akiolu Installs Obasa As Bamofin Of Lagos
Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has been conferred as the Bamofin of Lagos by Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.
Akiolu said the title is well deserved, especially as the Speaker celebrates his 50th birthday.
He described the occasion as apt and well thought through.
According to him: “If you watch the life and activities of Chief Muddashiru Obasa, you will know that he is calm, cool and very productive, but you have to be very close to him before you know him very well, and that is why I advise him.
“By May 24, 2023, I will be 20 years on this throne, but you cannot count up to 10 honorary chieftaincies that I have awarded because with God guidance, I’m a very careful somebody and I don’t take nonsense. I don’t hesitate to tell anybody the truth.”
The royal father called on the media to embark on ‘constructive criticism’ while appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to grant Lagos a special status.
Chief Obasa noted that the title conferred on him will encourage him to keep doing ‘a good job for the people of Lagos and Nigerians in general.
