Businessman Obi Cubana has been conferred with a prestigious chieftaincy title in Anambra State.
In a statement released on Sunday, Cubana announced that the Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri Traditional Council conferred on him the title Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba during a ceremony held in Enugwu-Ukwu on Saturday. The title was bestowed by the traditional ruler, Igwe Ralph Obumneme Ekpe.

According to the statement, the recognition celebrates Cubana’s achievements in business, philanthropy, and efforts to promote Igbo culture and excellence. The title, which can be translated as “the pride of the Igbo before the world,” is traditionally awarded to individuals who have excelled in entrepreneurship and community development.
“The title was bestowed by the traditional ruler, Igwe Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, in recognition of Iyiegbu’s achievements in business, philanthropy and his contributions to the promotion of Igbo culture and excellence.
“The title, which translates loosely as ‘the pride of the Igbo before the world,’ is reserved for individuals who have distinguished themselves in enterprise and community development,” the statement read.
During the ceremony, the monarch and council members highlighted Cubana’s leadership, entrepreneurial success, and social initiatives, emphasizing his contributions to the Igbo community.
Expressing his gratitude, Obi Cubana said the honour motivates him to continue supporting projects that create economic opportunities and drive community growth. He added that the recognition would inspire him to further promote Igbo heritage both within Nigeria and globally.
The event was attended by notable figures from banking, oil and gas, real estate, hospitality, as well as community leaders and business executives.
