Olamide Adedeji, also known as Olamide Baddo, is a renowned rapper, singer, and record label owner who has solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s most enduring hip-hop artists.
His latest release, “Ikigai,” has achieved notable success, featuring standout tracks like “Hello Habibi” and “Metaverse.” In a recent interview, Olamide discussed his new album and the inspiration behind it after nearly a four-year hiatus from music.

His previous album, “Carpe Diem,” was released in 2020.
In a chat with Too Xclusive, Olamide revealed that he almost quit music to focus solely on songwriting. However, after much reflection, he realized he couldn’t stop making music, as it gave his life purpose.
Olamide explained that he named his latest project “Ikigai,” a Japanese term meaning “a reason for being,” to reflect this sense of purpose.
