Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the Super Falcons’ remarkable victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON)
The Falcons clinched their record-extending 10th title on Saturday night after a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over hosts Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Nigerian side rallied back with grit and determination, scoring three goals in the second half to silence the home crowd and seal one of the most memorable finals in WAFCON history.
With this triumph, the Super Falcons reaffirm their status as the most dominant force in African women’s football — completing the Nigerian Football Federation’s “Mission X”, a nod to their 10th continental crown.
