Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has disclosed that 39 individuals suspected of fleeing northern Nigeria following U.S. military airstrikes have been arrested in the state

Adeleye stated that the corps has implemented measures to prevent the infiltration of bandits and terrorists into Ondo.

The commander made the revelation while parading 61 of the 100 suspects arrested at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, the state capital. He noted that 50 suspects were apprehended for disturbing public order, six for kidnapping, two for violations of anti-open grazing laws, and three for gender-based offenses and rape.

He said, “We thank all security agencies in the state—the police, civil defence, army, DSS, vigilantes—and the public for their support.”

Adeleye provided details of the arrests, including a 34-year-old Mustafa and 45-year-old Philip, who were caught for kidnapping in the Ofosun Odigbo area. In the Isua Akoko axis, 18-year-old Idris, 20-year-old Ibrahim Abdullahi, and 23-year-old Lawal Idris were apprehended.

Regarding r3pe and assaults on Amotekun officers, suspects included 19-year-old Daniel Ojo, 33-year-old Usman, and 41-year-old Bejide in Isinkan. Arrests for armed robbery included 30-year-old Ola Tunbosun, Ibrahim, and Shahidu, captured in Akure North, Oba Akoko, and Oba Ile.
