An individual suspected of vote-buying has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) during the ongoing Ondo State governorship election
According to Daily Post, the arrest took place at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, outside St. Stephen’s Primary School in Akure, Ondo State, around 9:00 am on election day. The suspect was apprehended with two bags of money that are believed to have been intended to induce voters.
Meanwhile, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has cast his vote at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4 in Obenla, Ilaje Local Government Area.
Aiyedatiwa is contesting to retain his governorship seat in the off-cycle election against 16 other candidates, including Agboola Ajayi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
