Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen reportedly threatened to quit the national team and return to Turkey following an on-field clash with teammate Ademola Lookman
According to Arise News, the 27-year-old grew frustrated during Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over Mozambique at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
Osimhen, who had scored twice from assists by Lookman, reacted angrily in the 64th minute when he felt his teammate failed to pass to him.
Osimhen then signaled for a substitution and was replaced by Moses Simon. At full time, he reportedly stormed out of the stadium, dropping his accreditation card, and insisted he was “done” with the national team and wanted to return to Turkey.
He was later calmed down by senior officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
