Osimhen willing to receive £200k at United – Fabrizio

Victor Osimhen is reportedly willing to accept a weekly salary of just under £200,000 to join Manchester United, contrary to earlier claims that he was demanding £300,000 per week

This is according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who dismissed the higher wage reports as inaccurate.

Speaking to Givemesport, Romano clarified that Osimhen only wants his current salary—around €12 million net per year (approximately £10.2 million)—to be maintained, the same terms he agreed to a year ago.

The revised wage expectations could encourage Manchester United to make a serious move for the Napoli striker, especially as the club looks to manage a tight wage structure under INEOS. Notably, Mason Mount already earns £250,000 per week at Old Trafford.

Osimhen, 26, is expected to leave Napoli this summer after a standout loan spell at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and registered eight assists in 41 matches, helping the Turkish side to a domestic double.

Despite interest from Saudi giants Al-Hilal—who reportedly offered him £30 million per year—Osimhen turned down the deal, choosing to stay in Europe. He is believed to favour a move to Juventus, whose long-term project reportedly appeals to him more than current alternatives.

Napoli, meanwhile, are open to selling Osimhen and are reportedly in talks with Liverpool over a potential swap involving Darwin Núñez. However, his €75 million release clause is only applicable to foreign clubs, meaning any Italian suitors, including Juventus, must negotiate directly.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has suggested the striker could be holding out for a move to Old Trafford.

“It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel. “I don’t know if Manchester United are going to come. That’s the problem.”

United remain in the market for a natural number nine, with Rasmus Højlund struggling to deliver consistently last season and Joshua Zirkzee more effective in deeper positions.

Osimhen leaves Napoli with a record of 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 appearances, having led the club to the 2022/23 Serie A title.
