Oyemyke, the popular Nigerian social commentator, has weighed in on the decision of prominent Igbo businessmen, including Obi Cubana, Cubana Chiefpriest, Zenco, and Enviable, to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 re-election.
The influencers, who have built their fortunes in Lagos, are backing Tinubu amid widespread discussions about political alignments in the commercial hub.
Commenting on their stance, Oyemyke said:
“If you were in their position, would you abandon Tinubu and support someone else? These are Igbo businessmen who left their cities and built their lives in Lagos: a city shaped by Tinubu. Their investments are in Lagos. They’re businessmen, not politicians.”
The endorsement highlights the role of Lagos economic environment in shaping political choices for business leaders, with analysts noting that Tinubu’s legacy in the city has had a lasting impact on entrepreneurs who call Lagos home.
