Speaking through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, at a press briefing in Lagos on Friday, Adeboye announced that the church’s July 2025 thanksgiving service will focus on the theme “Divine Intervention” and center on prayers for economic recovery.

The service is scheduled to take place at the RCCG national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.

“Our nation, Nigeria, like many others around the world, is going through difficult times. But the good news is that these challenges can be overcome through faith, as long as we do not entertain doubt,” Pastor Adeboye said.

He urged Nigerians to replace negative speech with faith-driven optimism, emphasizing that national transformation begins with mindset and prayer.

“As citizens and stakeholders, we must let go of negative confessions and embrace faith and positive thinking to drive real progress. Nigeria needs transformation, and we must collectively tap into divine opportunities,” he added.

Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, also revealed that a dedicated prayer team has been established to intercede for Nigeria throughout the second half of the year.

“We already have a team committed to praying for the nation—covering issues like the environment, weather, and other factors that influence national stability. Prayer doesn’t end after an event; we keep pushing spiritually,” Macaulay said.

This spiritual initiative comes at a time when Nigeria continues to face rising inflation and worsening socio-economic conditions, exacerbated by the removal of fuel subsidies in May 2023. While the government maintains that the economy is showing signs of recovery, many Nigerians still struggle with the daily realities of hardship.
