Dr. Paul Enenche, the founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, made headlines after rejecting a N30 million donation from the Kebbi State Government during a healing and deliverance crusade in Birnin Kebbi

The event, which held at Haliru Abdu Stadium on Wednesday, was part of Dunamis’ nationwide outreach campaign and drew thousands in attendance.
Midway through the crusade, a government representative mounted the stage to announce a ₦30 million donation from Governor Nasir Idris, saying:
“Our Governor, the people’s governor, has graciously approved the donation of ₦30 million to this gathering. This is to support the organising committee. And as always, His Excellency never pledges without delivering—in cash.”
Before he could finish, a voice from the stage interrupted with a firm “No, no.” It was later confirmed to be Pastor Becky Enenche, the wife of Dr. Enenche. Despite her protest, the official insisted on presenting the donation, prompting her to respond calmly, “Just hold on,” as the crowd erupted in cheers.
Addressing the situation, Pastor Paul Enenche explained the reason behind the rejection:
“We believe government money should be used for government work, and church money should be used for church purposes. Mixing the two is not appropriate.”
He further pointed out that the Dunamis Glory Dome in Abuja, one of the largest church auditoriums in the world, was constructed without any financial support from the government.
The moment has sparked widespread praise online, with many commending the Enenches for their stance on transparency and integrity.
Pastor Enenche, who left a career in medicine to become a full-time preacher, remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent pastors, known for his large-scale crusades and passionate sermons.
