Popular pastor and outspoken cleric Kingsley Okonkwo has sparked intense online debate after getting a new tattoo and clarifying himself following recent public backlash.
As reactions poured in, the pastor made it clear he wasn’t interested in public approval or religious gatekeeping. Addressing the backlash head-on, he dismissed moral policing and personal judgments with a fiery statement:
“I’m not doing this to justify anything. You’re not my Lord and Saviour. You’re not the one to mark my script.
You didn’t call me. I don’t know you, and I don’t care about your personal opinion. I didn’t come from a boring Christian background.”
The moment came shortly after Kingsley turned 50. To mark the milestone, he shared a video on his verified Instagram page documenting the tattoo process.
The clip began with a solemn recitation of John 3:16 one of Christianity’s most referenced scriptures before zooming in on the final result: the verse permanently inked on his body in Roman numerals, “III: XVI.”
The post has since drawn mixed reactions, with supporters applauding his unapologetic self-expression and critics questioning the symbolism.
Regardless, Kingsley appears unfazed, making it clear that his faith journey answers to no one but God.
